Renée Therése Strawbridge

Performing at Music in the Country 2024 Tauherenikau, Renée Therése Strawbridge is an independent Māori singer and songwriter who has been performing on stage for over 25 years.

Renée has performed on television and radio several times, and has been singing in bands around the Manawatū for the past 25 years. A previous finalist for NZCMA Entertainer of the year as both a singer and songwriter, she began her love of country music when she joined the Feilding Country Music Club as a 12 year old.

As a current member of the Feilding, Pounamu and Whanganui Country Music Clubs, and Convenor of the annual Aotearoa Country Music Awards, Renée is still very heavily immersed in our NZ country music scene.

Her 2021 country album of original songs titled Better With Friends spent a few weeks on the NZ Top 20 album charts back in May 2021. Renée loves to sing in both Māori and English, and is currently working on recordings for her next album, due for release in 2024.
