Christmas at the races – Sunday 9th November 2025
Celebrate the first of our summer races, and kick off the festive season in style with Christmas at the Races on November 9th! Gather your friends, family, or colleagues and enjoy a thrilling day of racing, delicious food, and great company.
With eight races, this will be a stunning Sunday afternoon. Better yet, there’s no gate charge. Race one will begin at 1:00pm (approx) and the last race commence at 5:00pm (approx).

FOR THE CHILDREN
After the second race 1:30pm (approx.) Santa will arrive in style on the Racecourse, then be available for photos at the Round Bar behind the grandstand.

ALCOHOL
The Wairarapa Racing Club holds a license that allows patrons to BYO refreshments. An allowance of 6 stubbie bottles of beer OR 1 bottle of wine per person is permitted. This will be strictly monitored by security at the gates.
There are also fully licensed bars on-site at Tauherenikau.
DOG’S
Unfortunately for health and safety reasons, especially for the horses, dogs are not allowed on Raceday.
