An award-winning New Zealand alternative country music artist, Ainslie Allen (Rongowhakaata) is truly a compelling and rare artist. She performs with passion and style, and sings with hauntingly beautiful vocals. A singer-songwriter writer, her lyrics convey depth and vulnerability. Not afraid to tackle difficult issues, she is a magnetic and inspiring artist.
Aged eight years old, she wrote her first song, at 12 years old she entered the New Zealand Country Music Awards – winning her first guitar. When she was 15 years old she became a house hold name starring in McDonald’s Young Entertainers, a hit New Zealand TV talent show. Since then, she’s gone on to win NZ Country Music Entertainer of the Year, is a double graduate of the CMAA Academy of Country Music, and a seven times finalist for the NZ Gold Guitar Awards 2019.
After a massive few years, a national headline tour under her belt, songwriting in the Gold Coast Australia with some of her favorite country music writers, preparations are in full swing for her sophomore album, and she can’t wait to share it with you.
