Well it hasn’t quite gone to plan! As of midnight on Sunday 23 January, 2022 COVID restrictions mean a number of events below need to postponed or held with maximum crowds of 100 people. We’re updating this information as we can – so stay tuned and mark down in your calendars any revised dates.

It’s going to be one massive summer here at Tauherenikau. Make sure you’re ready to enjoy it – you’ll need to have your vaccine pass ready to be scanned upon entry to each of our great 2022 events!

Our event line-up includes:

January 2, New Years Race Meet – THIS EVENT HAS ALREADY BEEN HELD
Attracting a crowd of more than ten thousand year after year, the New Years race meet is a cracker way to kick off our summer events season. A fun day for all ages, generations of families come along for the fantastic atmosphere, kids entertainment and racing! Gate admissions available.

January 28-30, Wairarapa Country Music Festival– POSTPONED, NEW DATES 6-8 JANUARY, 2023
Featuring thirteen acts over three days and suitable for the whole family, the festival is jam-packed with musical talent, bringing some of New Zealand’s finest country artists to the Tauherenikau Racing and Event Centre!

February 7, Waitangi Day Race Meet – TO BE HELD AS CLOSED MEET
Unfortunately no public access possible in Red setting

March 6, Martinborough Fair (at Tauherenikau) – INFORMATION TO COME
To assist with current vaccination requirements, the Martinborough Fair will be held within our stunning grounds on SUNDAY March 6 and SUNDAY April 3, 2022, 8am to 4pm each day. You can expect all the great shopping, food and experiences you know and love – just at a different location. We can’t wait to see you here!

March 11-13, 121 Festival– INFORMATION TO COME
We’re very pleased to be the venue for 121 Festival – a three-day dance odyssey designed to fuel creative expression in a carefully curated wonderland. Sounds good. Tickets on sale now.

March 27, Masterton Racing Club Race Meet – INFORMATION TO COME
We see out the event season with a final race meet run by the Masterton Racing Club at the Tauherenikau racecourse. Another excellent opportunity for racing enthusiasts to support local racing.

April 3, Martinborough Fair (at Tauherenikau) – INFORMATION TO COME

You can expect all the great shopping, food and experiences you know and love – just at a different location. We can’t wait to see you here!

In addition, our brand new glamping packages are available across the summer – with double and family options. It’s a perfect way to take a break, reset and surround yourself with some spectacular native forest.

Tauherenikau Racing & Events Centre and Wairarapa Racing Club events will comply with all relevant COVID mandates. This means that a vaccination certificate will need to be provided within relevant timelines to access venues.
